This may sound a little dumb, kinda like a derp moment. Can i swap my motherboard without buying a whole new processor and just place the processor on the new motherboard? I have an i5-3570K

Solution
Yes, you can swap your motherboard so long as the new motherboard is compatible with your current CPU and RAM. Also note that if you currently have an OEM version of Windows 7 (or earlier), you would also be required to purchase a new Windows license as it is tied to your current motherboard. Retail versions of Windows 7 and all versions of Windows 8 are transferable to new motherboards.

So long as it supports that processor, yes. Socket 1155 is what you are looking for. Make sure you go to the manufacturers website to make sure your processor is listed among those supported for that board.
