I'm new with APU's and I need some help configuring an OC for the new APU from AMD A10-7850K. I have the GB G1-Sniper A88X MB with the beta drivers F6i for Kaveri.

I only have experience with the AM3+ bios's from GB...I tried upping the cpu clock to 1ghz like it said in a you tube video but I couldn't get it stable, I had issues with 820mhz as well. I think it's a voltage issue, but I do not know where to find the gpu voltage control? Has anyone else messed around with this and have better suggested oc settings? I would assume the NB could probably go 2400mhz but i'm not sure, cpu could probably go 4.5ish but there is no point in that if it means the gpu has to stay at default.

Thanx in advance!

Here are my current settings:

CPU NB: 2100MHZ
CPU 4.0GHZ
GPU DEFAULT (720 I THINK)
RAM 2400MHZ XMP PROFILE 1
ALL VOLTS DEFAULT/AUTO

TURBO: OFF
APM: OFF
C&Q: ON

FYI I ended up having to go back to complete optimized defaults to get this thing stable. I'm not sure if there is something I'm supposed to do to get this thing working along side 2400mhz ram.

I'm really not sure how ppl are getting 4.7ghz oc on the cpu side along with 1020 oc gpu side. My MB only has the option to bump up voltages by +.06 but it never tells you what the voltage actually is... I tried upping the voltage cpu vcore by 1 click and the system got REALLY hot. I'm using an H55. I dont want to mess with something to the point where I break it lol I already had to pull the MB battery to reset the thing.

If anyone's got the same set up, I could use a few pointers thanx!

Ok first thing. You nb speed has to match the ram speed Ur trying to run. Second your nb voltage should be around 1.375 _ 1.4v. Worry about the ram speed first then work on the cpu side. Leave the gpu clock alone till u get the ram stable. Then slowly increase it. Til u get where u want. Ram speed is the most crucial part to get the gpu to seriously perform. If 2400 won't work go down to 2133. It natively supports 2133... and go from there

fyi the h55 is keeping the cpu about 30c at load after 2 hours gaming oc so it's working out atm.

I've got 4.3ghz cpu with +0.060v vcore
800mhz igpu with +0.018v nb
ram is at 2133mhz 1.45v ( i cant get it to 2400mhz even though its made for it)
nb freq is default 1800mhz

looking to improve from here since temps are great

No the northbridge has to match the ram speed. Because when u saturate the bandwidth with data it will cause it to crash because the northbridge won't be able to keep up. That's why u can't get 2400 stable. I have an asrock fm2 extreme 6+ and it takes it just fine. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with gigabyte bios so I have no idea what Ur dealing with.

Did you ever got stable clocks ? I just got the Ram speed at 2400 seems ok without touching the NB the RAM is the R9 default 2400 also I know these APUs sensors are all over the place and is super hard to get a good reading on them. Not sure if all this is going to make any difference in gaming

I had stable clocks with the f8i beta bios then I did something stupid and upgraded to the f8 final release bios and had issues getting the ram stable again. I ended up having to up the ram voltage to 1.70 for 2400mhz, nb +.072 for 1ghz igpu and 2000mhz nb, and 1.69v vcore for 4.4ghz cpu.

Holy crap! 1.69 CPU voltage for 4.4GHZ? That's a good recipe for frying eggs on your processor and mosfets LOL Should we even be exceeding 1.55 on water for these CPU's? People are doing 4.7GHZ at 1.51v lol.

I've been running my 7700K Black at 4.0GHZ CPU and 847Mhz GPU with .06 volt increase. 2400MHZ RAM...Did not touch NB ratio, and I've never had a single crash since I have started. Do you have an aftermarket cooler? I'm at 44c...

I got 4.5 at around 1.48v fully stable (100*45.) Prime 95 hits a peak temp at 56c with the NiC C4 air cooler at a moderate speed. I highly recommend this cooler if your case has the room for it. Apu works flawlessly with the Crossblade Ranger. BEST BIOS EVER!!! Keep in mind the 7850k by default will go up to 1.55v if necessary but as previously stated 1.69v is WAY too much. I know i'm a little late with this post but wanted to ensure after running for 2 months that this setup is indeed stable. Thanks guys!

NB is way to high I'm running 4.5 ghz @1.48-1.5V NB is set to auto but I know for a fact anything over 1900mhz gets glitchy and use amd overdrive a lot of the time bios voltage is overridden in win7/8/10 u lost voltage once windows boots and as soon as u put it under a load it crashes
