Hi guys, I need some help here.

I just bought a brand new i5 4670k from a friend for really cheap and I don't plan to overclock at the moment.

My questions are:

1. How important is getting an expensive motherboard if I won't be overclocking or sli?

2. Will I loose performance if I cheap out on a mobo?

I would be upgrading my mobo in the summer to OC, just trying to squeeze every penny so I can afford a gtx 770.

Thanks

Cheaper motherboards come with less features and connections and, from my experience, have a higher chance of having issues. If I were you, I would buy a more expensive motherboard (~100 dollars) for two reasons:

1. You have an unlocked processor.
2. They have many options you might be interested in, now or in the future. This includes USB 3.0, SATA III, more SATA connections in general, better overclock features, etc.

I understand I have an unlocked processor but I won't be overclocking.

Now my question was, will I loose gaming performance if I cheap out on a mobo?
