I have plex running on my machine and my videos for my family on a separate hard drive for all the movies. The disk is getting full and it's time to look at other options.

The drive I have is a 3tb drive. I could easily move it to another computer if need be.

I'm tight on money so I need a viable option but nothing overkill.

Should I get a separate machine, say a cheap one from tiger direct, and load it up with hard drives? Get a 2/4 bay hard drive enclosure? Add more hard drives to what I have? Are there other options I'm not seeing?

I was hoping for some input from the experienced crew here to give me ideas on what I should do.

One thing to note, I do have a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 that is not in use right now.

One way or another, I need more disk space.

Thanks for your input!

depends...

if you want to make the information available to multiple systems having a nas (multiple drive external backup) might make sense since it doesnt require the pc to be on. if your pc is the only thing which needs to access the data or you have your pc always on then putting them inside your pc may make more sense.

in any case i would suggest having some form of backup as the larger drives tend not to be super reliable (i've have 5 fail on me so far)
