Hello,
I went with the intel road instead of a fx series for a possible upgrade to a 4670k or maybe a Broadwell series later on.
For now, I have a I3 4330 with a Hd 6870.
Before i buy the game, I am wondering if bf4 will be playable on 1080p with low-mid settings?

Ram: 8gb 1600 cl11
Mobo: GB z87x ud3h

Solution
That's not your average dual core, it's a powerful hyperthreaded dual core on par with AMD's quad core offerings so medium settings should be no problem for your setup

you should have gone with the fx. yes the cpu will hold you back cause the recommended is 4 cores if you're intel.

i dont know with bf4, but in bf3 when you run it using a dual core graphics are reduced. it was in the ncix tech tips in youtube. when they tried it the soldier who opens the door is missing.

The i3 4330 is comparable with the FX6300 and it's not that much worse. The Intel architecture and per core performance is just unmatched by AMD. Plus, that's a stupid recommendation, seeing intel processors only come in quad or dual core flavours, hex if your made of money. While AMD dual, quad and their FX Series semi quad, semi hex and semi oct core processors. I would imagine his CPU paired with a more powerful GPU can play BF4 on ultra.

I've got the i3 4330 and a 7870.

75FPS in BF4, 1080p w/ Ultra settings except for MSAA and a couple others at med.

I had the FX 6300, with the same GPU and it was doing slightly less than the i3.

In ARMA 3 both CPUs work equally well.

The hyperthreading of the i3 makes it work as well as a quad core or better from what I can tell.

Depending on your mobo and AMD's future CPU plans, the i3 path will lead to more and better CPU options in the future I would say. My AMD board was limited to 125W and I would not be surprised if they started using different sockets for the next gen anway.
