I have had this PC for about a year with no problems with Windows Live Mail but when I attempted to use it on 15th Jan it had problems deleting an email from a trusted source. It froze up and I eventually found out it forgot where the storage folders were. Importing the addresses and emails was abit fiddly from the hard drive but it eventually worked. Now it takes 2 to 3 minutes to open the email program and 2 to 3 minutes to switch between folders etc. Any help would be appreciated. I am suspecting a corrupted startup file for this program????

Website "Tom's Hardware" keeps sending me these messages saying that there has been a reply but there are none here. I have created my own fix for this problem - Delete "Windows Essentials" and therefore, Windows Live Mail and download and install the "eM Client" email program. This one has been the best out of all I tried that was easy to import contacts and email msgs from WLM, plus setup the way I want. Others I tried were Thunderbird, Pegasus, Incredimail, Postbox, Sylpheed, iScribe etc to name most of them, but there were others. WLM worked great for about a year but when a Microsoft product plays up it is hard to get it fixed or help from Microsoft. The tech people I spoke to at Microsoft were only helpful in passing the buck to someone else.
