Is it intel or amd? it depends on the processor. If its intel you can possibly get it.

Looks like it has been done before, but is not an easy task and riddled with problems. Id stay well clear if you want a stable operating system.

What year is the alienware 17.

Okay, the mac side is for school, i am fine with just having hd4600 graphics. I can also plug it in through ethernet or blackberry's usb host. Other than those two things, will I be able to run it for the adobe suite, and a few other basic mac programs.

I dont think the ethernet works with OS X on the alienware 17.

Why not sell the macbook and buy a cheap laptop that is hackintosh compatible.

RAM: 16 GB (4x4 GB )
Chipset: Intel HM8
VGA: Nvidia GTX770M, Intel HD Graphics 4600 with Optimus, 1080p panel.
Disks: 512 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD, 750 GB Seagate Hybrid drive, 120 GB mSATA Kingston.
OSX is to be installed on the mSATA disk.
LAN: Killer e2200
Wifi: BroadCom 802.11 ac
SD reader : Realtek
USB: 4x USB 3.0 ports with PowerShare

Will be able to install Maverics on it? I just want to be able to install. I have USB wifi that works with OSX (is working on 10.8.5 with my DELL XPS 17 laptop, if the embedded chip is not supported yet).
And as long as Intel HD 4600 will work, i dont care if Nvidia will not work.
You will not be able to use nVidia optimus based 770M. HD4600 only.

You may run into instant reboot due to power management in the new kernel and locked MSRs (very typical of laptops). See here: Haswell early reboot, Mavericks, locked MSRs, and HP Envy 15-J063CL (i7-4700MQ)

"Killer" ethernet is not supported.

Check your WiFi against the devices that are supported here: [Guide] Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2. Maybe you have one that is supported, otherwise I encourage you to replace it. Since your Ethernet is not supported, it is imperative to get the built-in WiFi working (by replacing it if necessary), otherwise you lose App Store access.

The above thread that that was taken from, doesn't have any responses to it other than that one, so I assume, trying to do this would be futile. It is also an old post, are these laptop components not supported yet?
