UPS not giving backup

hi guys ......................i am a problematic guy. i have got another problem.last time i wanted to know about buying a PSU. That recommendation from you guys was beautiful . here is my problem my ups is not giving backup. its not even giving me a chance to click on power of button when ever the light goes off. and i am feared that could be a reason to blow my newly upgraded PC.
Here is my system specs:
-AmD FX 8320 cpu
-Gigabyte GA 78LMT USB 3 MB
-Wd 500 GB HDD
-8 GIGS of Ram
-DVD writer from LIGHT SCRIBE
-ati radeon hd 7870 2 GB gddr5
Sapphire editon
-SMPS corsair VS 650
-Samsung " TFT LCD
PLZ Lads help me to get out of this last problem......

a 800VA psu would keep a 800W psu running at full load working for another hour. (in theory) but in practice this almost never happens, most will work at about half of that.

yes. a 7 years old psu has most likely depleted the battery and that's why it can't power the pc at all. you can either replace the battery or probably cheaper to just get a new one.
