Hi I had a bunch of questions about this and needed some opinions.
First off, which would be better because as I see it the r9 280x I can get for about $380 where as the the GTX 780 would run me about $500. Which one would be better in regards of the Asus version of both because that is the one that I was most interested in or the ACX cooler design by EVGA. ( NOTE I AM NOT BUYING BOTH AT THE SAME TIME ONE NOW ONE 7 TO 8 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD.)
Secondly, which technology is better and would scale better SLI or CrossfireX? Also have a black SLI bridge that came with my motherboard and don't like the bronze one that I would have to use with crossfire but will sleeve it if it is a better option.
And lastly, would it be worth spending any money on custom watercooling? Would I see a reasonable decrease to my thermal levels so I could OC a little more out of the card?
The rest of my system specs are as followed:
i7 4770k at 4.4 stable
Asus Hero motherboard
Corsair RM850 PSU
2TB Seagate Hard drive
120GB Samsung Evo SSD
16GB Vengeance ram (going to be getting probably 8 or 16 GB more for the look of my computer.
Also I use Sony Vegas frequently as well as Adobe after effects I use about 3 to 4 times a month. I also use a h.264 encoder and Dxtory for capturing/compressing video. Any feedback with some logic and not too much fanboyism would be appreciated, thank you.
