Hi List,

I plan to buy a new computer for Matlab computation and i am wundering which combination would be cost effectiveness.

I thought about one Intel I7 with 8-Cores vs 2 - Xeon with 4 - Cores each and in addition Hyper-Threading motherboard, which will give me 16 Cores.

I am planning to buy in addition a NVIDIA graphic card, since Matlab support only NVIDIA (as far as i know), so that the grafical card in the I7 is not relevant of rmy needs.

Which cooling system could you recommand me that is also silence and will fit a budget of 1500€?

In addition i thought of the following hardware;
Storage Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Disk 280€
Storage Seagate Desktop SSHD 4TB, SATA 6Gb/s 180€
Case NZXT Switch 810 (Gun Metal) ATX Full Tower Case 185€

Any recomendation\suggestion are more then welcome

EDIT
I built the followin combination, which is a bit too expencive for me:
Intel Core i7-4770K Box, LGA1150 295€
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, ATX, Sockel 1150 133€
Corsair Hydro Series H90 87€
16GB-Kit G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-10667U CL9 135€
NZXT Switch 810 Big-Tower - Gunmetal 185€
Seasonic G-650, 650 Watt, 80PLUS Gold 114€
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 WindForce 3X OC, 4GB GDDR5 274€
Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB SATA 6Gb/s NCQ 8,9cm (3,5") SSHD (8MB) 103€
Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 280€
LG GH24NS Retail schwarz 25€
Microsoft Windows Pro 8.1 64-Bit (SB-Version) 120€
Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 191€

Total: 1839€

I would like to reduce the price of the computer i chose in about 300€ since in addition i have Windows 8.1 and monitor that i would like to fit in ca. 1500€ range.

Which hardware should i replace?

Regards

Go for an i7 with a 'k' at the end of the model number which denotes that it's OCable. If you go for one of those then get a Z87 chipset motherboard (For 4th gen) or a Z77 chipset (For 3rd Gen). Get a water cooler. An Nvidia graphics card will be better. Something in the GTX7xx series.
