I bought a new GPU recently, and then had to get a new PSU to work with it. After installing these components, the computer has been working absolutely fine for a few weeks.

But then yesterday, mid-game of BF4, my TV says "No signal", as if the VGA lead had come disconnected. I checked this, and it was fine. I was worried at this point, but then when I tried to use the keyboard to shutdown the PC, nothing happened. Then when I tried to use the power button to turn it off, that did not work either. Looking it up online, it seems most likely that its the PSU being the problem, but im not sure, any help?

Specs;
Sony Bravia TV As monitor
CPU; FX-6100
GPU; Sapphire HD 7970 3GB
PSU; EVGA 600B
MOBO; 78LMT-USB3

Yes the computer still turns on...but everytime I do, it wont turn off again until I switch off the power supply at the back. So the GPU just died? Would it have been something I did, or was it just faulty do you think? Thanks for the help

ok I took out the 7970 and plugged the VGA into the mobo. I turned it on then and nothing came up on the screen, and it still would not turn off

Do you have another monitor+vga cable to test?

Check all your psu connections, 12,6v cpu fan. Getting any bios beeps when you boot? Re-seat the RAM.

Thanks for the replies guys

I checked all my connections and re-seated the ram, but then when I tried turning it on again, I noticed that the CPU fan was not moving. What does this mean, broken CPU?

than could mean that the cpu is not turing on or the cpu is overheating from the fan not turning on

What can I do to work out the problem/fix the problem?

check the fan connection to the fan header
if it is connected properly try a next fan on the same header
if not try the same fan on a different fan header
