Can i Overclock my core i5 2310 (w/o "k")?

hey guys!

Can i overclock my core i5 2310? i have read that non "K" processors can be Oc'd but i dont know how.

Some says that in order to Oc my proce is i have to upgrade my Mobo ( w/c is An Intel H61 chipset)

What will i do? Help please . . :)

do you have the budget to buy a new motherboard?
h61 chipset does not allow cpu overclocking. you'd need a z77 motherboard. there are 2 other chipsets that allow o.c. but they're likely phased out. z77 is the latest but those are gonna be phased out soon, in favor of haswell platform.

core i5 2310 is partially unlocked, so while you can't o.c. it like 2500k, you can raise the clockrates 4 bins above stock (that's 400mhz) with the help of a z77 mobo. and a little more with bclk overclocking.
