Hi,

I have a Dell XPS 8700 and wish to replace the psu with the corsair ax1200, but the psu does not have a square 4-pin power connector that I need to hook into the Dell motherboard. I just popped open the Dell case and noticed it.

With all the slew of cables that came with this psu, there isn't one 4-pin and I can't find one online, especially one that can be connected to the back of this psu

Here is some detailed info on the corsair ax1200

Can anyone help me out with this so I can get this psu hooked up?
Thanks!

Oh yes, I can imagine it is, but I got it from a system pull for free. Maybe should I sell it instead?

Here is a pic of a similar motherboard that has the ivory colored 4-pin connector on it. It's located in the upper right hand side on the board in the picture near the highlighted screw.

Should I sell this psu then and get another? I was going replace the video card, hence the reason for a stronger power supply.

In my previous post I have a link there to pictures of the psu and the back of it.

Thanks!

Sorry for the noob response but then do I just plug in the 8 pin into the 4 pin on the motherboard (leave the other 4 off on the side of it)?
