Is my graphics card failing?

Hey,

Today I got the Hobbit in 1920x1080 resolution for my 27" LG 27EA53 monitor. I've got the Radeon 7850 HD 2GB GDDR5 Graphics card. Whenever I do some multi tasking, for exmp; open more games or anything graphics intense, some stripes appear on my screen.

I have tried overclocking my GPU and underclocking it for some checkups and the film lasted longer if I was watching underclocked.

Can anyone tell me what to do? This is a 1 week old computer I built.

EDIT: I'll roll the film about 5 min in and post the temps
UPDATE: It turned out that my GPU reached 40 Celsius and then shortly crashed, I'm going to try to increase the fan speed, and see if there are any changes. I'm starting to think it's the temperature.

Everything points to a faulty GPU, try to RMA it.

Your PSU is also not a trusted unit, try to borrow a PSU from someone to test. It could be that PSU is not providing enough power to the card to run.

Temps are fine, so that's not a problem. Or, you could try the card on another system to check, or you can try a different card on your system.

I'm actually concerned more on the PSU as you stated, I think it isn't the graphics card since it's a good one and temps are fine. I'll see what I can do and update you on this if I find the soultion.
