I'm planning on putting together a new system, and also bought a new display, the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM.

When I got it I hooked it up using a DVI-D (single) cable to my current system, using a HD4850 crossfire setup. The screen was set at 1080p.

I first did THIS test to check for dead pixels, everything seemed to be just fine! I tought the screen was perfect. Then I minimised the browser and on my black background red dots seemed to "jump" accross horizontal lines. It seems to be dynamic, as can be seen in the video below.

In the video shown, I also opened paint and filled it with a pure black plain as a reference ^^.
Video of red dots (I know.. it's vertical.. sorry :p )

Is this a fault in the display? Or is it my graphics card acting out? Was it a bad connection of the cable?

The card I plugged it onto normally has 2 screens connected to it (the ones I'm using right now).
1. HP w2207h @ 1680x1050
2. screen from Medeon @ 1440x900
They have never shown this red dot jitter, and aren't showing it now after plugging them back in.

What to do? : (

If you are having issues connecting it to one computer and you try to connect it to another then the monitor is the issue. Please return n exchange it. Dell makes excellent Ultrasharp monitors, I have one...3+ years old. Check the warranty.

Connecting it to the laptop with the VGA connector delivered no visual artefacts at all!
But my video card also hasn't given me any artefacts for my current setup.. So maybe the connection of the cable was bad? (I used the one that came with the screen)
