Please review my first build, need help with power supply

This is the first time I put a PC together so I have no experience at it.

My last PC was an i7-920 it was pretty good and ran all games decently. but that was 3 years ago so I guess I need to step it up in 2014.

This is my build.

Am I overspending for what I'm aiming at? I want to be able to play the latest video games such as "Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag" at max settings.

I am also a bit confused regarding the fans. Does the CPU come with its own fan or do I have to order one separatly? Do I have to order a power supply as well?

This will cost $2013.00 USD in my country.

  1. Yes you're overspending. The i5 4670k will have the same performance as the i7 4770 in games and is a lot cheaper. 16GB is overkill as well, 8GB is plenty. And the cpu comes with it's own fan, which is good enough if you're not overclocking the cpu. And yeah you have to order a power supply as well, although i see there comes one with the case??

And where are you buying this? Probably a better idea to 'order' from pcpartpicker.com
  2. What do you mean by 'overkill' on 16GB? Will it cause any problems?
No I am not planning on overclocking the CPU.

    That's what I was wondering.
I read on their site that the power supply is optional. I don't know what that means.

  3. It's optional so you only get the case. But i see a Thermaltake psu in the list, strange..

And no, 16GB won't cause any problems, but you're not going to need anything more than 8GB if all you do is gaming/webbrowsing etc.
  4. Is this power supply good enough?
