Hi,
I had a HD 7870 2 GIG GDDR5 and i was able to play every game on high settings.
I've bought a HD6990 4gig GDDR5 and only 1 core is in use during gameplay. @ 375 watt
When i turn on the OC switch on the card itself it does nothing.and stays @ 375
With 40 fps even on low settings in BF3, BF4, ...
I think that my PSU is blocking the full potential of this card.
Am i right?
I'm using catalyst amd drivers 13.12

My system is
Asrock 970 extreme 4 Mainboard
AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.8 Ghz STABLE
8 GIG Corsair XMS3 @1333mhz
Kingston 120 gig SSD
Corsair CX600 watt with 2x 8 pin connectors.

Please confirm it is my PSU thats the problem?
Thanks!

How did you enable the 2nd core?!?! i can't see the Crossfire settings too. I am only seeing 2048 mb of gddr5, and i am seeing only 1 hd 6990 in GPU-Z

Like i thought!
Thanks for the quick respond.
I'm looking for an RH850 Corsair PSU
This would do the trick i suppose?...

No problem.

I mean that games that need more CPU grunt is gonna bottleneck, this includes GTA V, Battlefield, Crysis 3, Skyrim.

So yes, your CPU is a little outdated. But its not that extreme and will mostly feel it in battlefield multiplayer with 36+players.

Hi,
When i look @ CCC performance i dont see any crossfire panel.
When i look with gpu-z its says its enabled but dont see any activity by the second gpu.
And the overclock switch doesnt change any settings at all.

Hi Novuake,

Ive bought a Coolermaster Modular 1000watt PSU.
Everythings perfectly attached.
When i test the card ingame with gpu-z i see 1 gpu core is 98% under load and the second 25%
I couldnt get anymore then 35-45 fps on ultra . even on medium i have the same results.
When i look in TRIXX the 1st gpu runs on pci-e x16 2.0 and the second on x16 1.1?
I guess this is the problem?
Is it important in wich pci-e port you put the card in ?
You have the same motherboard like me , i put it in the second port..
Thx in advance !

Hi there ,
I was abled to enable the 2 gpu cores.
But performance has drastically decreased. I have a hige bottleneck cpu @98 procent gpu @70 procent.
If i buy my brothers x6 1090t will it be better ?
Otherwise , im going for the fx6300 or something in the fx series. What is your recommendation ?
Grtzz
