Hi, I have a relative who asked me to help in the purchase of a day-to-day simple usage PC station. The configuration must be able to run windows 7 (I have this already), use microsoft office, browse the internet and run full HD movies.
The configuration does not have to be future proof, just needs to be able to perform well in simple tasks.

My question is which AMD processor is best for this type of job ?
I think AMD is best suited for the need since it has well respected graphics integrated gpus which is good enough for my needs (i hope ! correct me if i am wrong)

I should mention i live in Romania and am willing to pay 100-125 Euros for the processor. Also I need more than one option in case some of the choices are not available, since they might be out of stock and i need to get this done in less than a week.

Are the following good options or can i do better ?
A10-6790K http://www.azerty.ro/procesoare/procesor-amd-a10-6790k-fm2-4-nuclee-frecventa-4-ghz-turbo-43-ghz-cache-l2-4mb-gpu-radeon-hd-8670d-box
A8 X4 6600K. http://www.emag.ro/procesor-amd-a8-x4-6600k-3-90ghz-socket-fm2-box-ad660kwohlbox/pd/EDZB0BBBM/

Summary : 100-125 Euros (400-550 RON) processor with best posible integrated GPU
and if posible some motherboard ideas.

Thanks in advance !

it does seem that it is a nice MB but do I understand well that it can only take integrated GPU ? not that it matters, but if i buy it i must tell my relative that wont be posible to upgrade graphics.

stupid question, please ignore :).

Get the A10 6790K because with that you'll have options. Say he has people over and they want to play some games or something then the A10's integrated GPU will handle it no problem while I doubt the FX 6300 will even launch the games.

Who cares about passmark or any other benchmark scores, this is about real world performance. I doubt his relative will care what benchmarks say

Yes, the 6790 it the way to go for me, it has more than enough processing power for what he needs. It gives me best integrated GPU so this is settled. I've moved to PSU now.
thanks again

Corsair's CX430 will provide more than enough power at silent noise levels and cool operation temperatures

A Hard Drive and A DVD Drive (they're dirt cheap anyway. I recommend getting an LG DVD Drive for their cheap price for performance), also I definitely recommend getting an aftermarket cooler such as the Hyper 212 Evo as the stock cooler never cuts it and is always terribly loud from AMD's side. Just check to make sure your case will fit the 212 Evo

No discrete graphics is necessary. Integrated graphics from either amd or Intel will do the job.

For desktop work, high core count or even fast core capability is not important either.

I suggest for desktop performance, build using a SSD. It makes all the difference in the world.

You can use the cheapest modern cpu available from either amd or intel.

Very well said. However this computer is not for any kind of gaming. And for this kind of use this is more than enough processor.
I myself know more about high end computers than low end (1100 OC 7950 with I5 3570K 4.4 - My once high end computer, still pretty good). However for these cheaper and less demanding computers are more tricky to configure. Nice ideea with the SSD, I will tell my friend to buy it later on, for better load times.

Thanks for help everyone !
