i recently bought a new PC with PSU: Corsair VS450. now planning on buying a MSI GeForce GTX760 TwinFrozr 2GB OC GDDR5. will it run on this PSU?

(if not then can you recommend any similar GPU that will run on this Spec?)

My PC spec:

MoBo: Gigabyte H81M-S2PV
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1 x 8GB 1600MHz

You will need to look at an AIB (Add-In Board) partner's requirements for their version of the GeForce GTX 760. NVIDIA provides this information to their AIB partners and it's up to the AIB partners if they want to publish it or not.

Here's an example for the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Superclocked w/ EVGA ACX Cooler:
http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/02G-P4-2765.pdf

Here's another one for the Gainward GeForce GTX 760 2GB:
http://www.gainward.com/main/product/vga/pro/p00914/p00914_datasheet_72251c3cea1bdb3a.pdf?s=634

It's shown right on the back of the box that the card comes in "MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS"...

If you really want to keep that psu you will really be limiting yourself to low end cards. I would seriously suggest getting something with more available. That being said if it works you will really be putting stress on components the psu or card would go first and probably quick. You would have to go with some sort of low end nvidia 620 or amd equivalent

There are two VS450 models. Which one do you have?

Corsair VS450 (SKU# CP-9020009) Discontinued
• OEM: CWT (Channel Well Technology)
• maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps
• two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors (F.Y.I. there is a dual +12V rail model with exactly the same SKU# but it only has one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector)
• No 80 PLUS Efficiency Certification
• 3 Year Limited Warranty

Corsair VS450 (SKU# 75-001835 / CP-9020049)
• OEM: CWT (Channel Well Technology)
• maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 34 Amps
• two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors
• No 80 PLUS Efficiency Certification
• 3 Year Limited Warranty

For a system using a single NVIDIA Reference Design GeForce GTX 760 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. Some of the non-Reference Design GeForce GTX 760 cards have a single 8-pin (e.g. ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II OC) or two 8-pin (e.g. MSI GTX 760 HAWK) or one 6-pin and one 8-pin (e.g. Gigabyte GTX 760 WindForce OC, EVGA GTX 760 SC w/ACX Cooler, MSI GTX 760 TwinFrozr Gaming [N760 TF 2GD5/OC]) PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

i have the money to buy the MSI GTX760 TF at the moment. and as far as i studied. it is the best card in my budget. so if i change my PSU my budget will decrease. and, or if i buy a low end GPU then my budget has no value :p

nevertheless, if there s no way to run my desired card on VS450. then i have to take a above option :(
