Clock speed is not the determining factor for CPU speed. The FX 6300 is faster because of it's architecture.

Are you getting a dedicated graphics card with it? if so get the 6 core. More cores is better, and the six core has a MUCH higher cache and actually has an L3 cache which the 4 core does not. GHZ is not everything when it comes to processors. Cache plays a huge part. And more cores can usually help. If you're running a dedicated graphics card there is absolutely zero point in buying the first one.
