AMD Quick Question

Solution
I am expecting what is on the market now is the end of the line for AM3+, there have been no indication of anything new coming along. You sure have a high end board so if it was me I would be looking out for can not resist deals on Piledriver just to take full advantage of the board even if it is just a slight increase in performance.
The FX 9xxx are just overclocked FX 8350s, so that wouldn't be worth it.

Instead of an 8350 you could look at an 8320 (same chip clocked lower at stock and they OC to the same point - much cheaper).

I went from a 6200 to an 8320 and I saw a huge leap in performance. It depends on what you're using the PC for. And whether it's worth it will depend on what you need.

It is actually not really worth upgrading from a FX-8150 to the FX-8350. Below is a link from Anandtech which compares the performance of the two CPU in mostly non-gaming benchmarks. There is not that much of a difference.

Below are some game benchmarks between the FX-8150 and FX-8350:

As can be seen in the game benchmarks, the FX-8350 does offer improved performance but not very much. Crysis 3 shows the biggest improvement which is around 10%.

Going with a FX-9xxx series CPU will require that you buy a new mobo because it needs the 990 FX mobo.

If you really want better performance, then you should consider switching over to Intel.
