FPS drop from 250 to 50 in League of Legends

Not that playing at 50 fps is particularly bad, but it is a little worrying when I go from running league of legends on the highest settings across the board, at 250 fps. to running at 50 fps on all the lowest settings.

I have a gtx 670, i5 2500k... so I don't think the hardware should be the issue unless something is not working correctly.

I have updated all drivers, tried re installing them as well as the game itself.

I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or may have some insight into why this is happening.

I also have a normal hard drive and an SSD (the game is on the HD) not sure if this could make any difference.

Are there any diagnostic tests I can run on my gpu/cpu to make sure they are both working correctly?

I also recently moved (to worse internet) but I do not think that should affect the FPS at which i play.

If there is more information needed for someone to help me out feel free to ask

the fps in this game drops randomly for some reason for most people, so honestly, unless it becomes a real issue don't worry about it

another fix to this is to remove all of the game files from your computer (complete uninstall) then reinstall the game. this will take a while obviously, but it can fix some of the corrupted files in the game that can be causing slight fps drops at certain points.

I knew it dropped for people quite frequently, and I let it go for a while... it has been about 2 months since it dropped so I am starting to wonder if it is something with my hardware

I did already do 2 full re installs unfortunately, neither of which helped

ok, well try using a different fps monitor than the one in game, but likely it is just a problem with the game. have you experienced drops in any other games?

I have actually not played any other games, but I will try something quickly on steam

Also what other fps monitors can I try?

fraps is the most simple one to use, but msi afterburner is nice if you ever want to monitor a lot of other things like temps, core speeds, and eventually do some overclocking

Well i am currently using an i5-2410M and Intel HD Graphics Family (Laptop) and at the lowest settings i get maybe around 70-100fps. so i dont really know why you are dropping so much. I used to have 20-40fps but i realized i was using 2 1080p monitors at the same time and now i am using a 1400x900 monitor and i can finally run at 70-100fps. So it could probably be your hardware or software problem, since your computer itself (if it was working properly) should be faster than mine by like 30 times.
