Howdy all,
So last night I setup a hard drive on my router. Everything was great, everything on the hard drive could be browsed from 4 different tested computers, moving files on and off. Two of the systems were wired, two were wireless.
A few hours later (sometime in the middle of the night), something decided to deny everyone access to the hard drive. The internet still works fine, no issues there. Using the dashboard for the router, I can still see the HD connected. The router comes with twonky dlna. We did put some photos, and movie files on the hd last night, and the twonky media server is still working fine. All the computers on the network can use Windows Media Player, and stream the movies, or see the photos, but can not connect to the mapped network drives.
I also tried using the Belkin Router icon selecting Netowked USB devices. The device is listed, but when I select browse, nothing happens. Using the Belkin USB Control Center, I can see the HD connected. I can click the browse button, but nothing happens. There is a stop use button that is clickable, but Properties and Request Use are greyed out. So the router knows the hd is there, and it can serve files from it, but I can't access it, or map it from Explorer any longer.
I've tried renaming the HD. I've read that some routers assign an IP address to the USB HD, but I can't find any information stating that Belkin does that.
Last night I had used \\Router\Toshiba ext(a1)\
I've since renamed the hd to Snowflake, in case the space was causing any issues (even though it hadn't before.
Trying to map a drive letter to \\Router\Snowflake\ gives me the error:
Windows cannot access \\Router\Snowflake
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.
Under details I get Error Code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found. If i try and diagnose, it says, The remote device or resource won't accept the connection.
Also, if I just click Router, from the list under Network (which is where I got the drive info last night to use the Toshiba ext(a1)) I get the same error as above.
Router: Belkin AC1200DB Wireless Router
Model: F9K1113v2 (01)
HD: Toshiba Canvio Desk 2tb (it has USB3.0, and is plugged into the USB3.0 on the router).
Sorry for the really long post, but I wanted to be detailed.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for any help.
