This is for everyday use, internet, surfing, youtube, netflix, etc. Want to keep it to as close to $300 as possible but I am looking for suggestions on parts that have much better quality or can save money in anyway. I do not need an OS. That is getting purchased separately and is not part of the budget for this pc.

is ebay an option? you can pick up a cheap e5200 for next to nothing and overclock. since the e5200 is clocked way lower and already wins. it can catch up easily with an overclock with speed also. it's really responsive when you overclock and it will decimate that amd cpu when you do overclock.

for what you need it for, the e5200 is a nice option. besides the memory which you can pick up next to nothing also on ebay, also the mobo can find for cheaper on ebay, the rest can stay the same since those are good prices. it doesn't get much better then a e5200, and overclocking is a good thing to do with it.

i am currently am running it. again it's very responsive when you overclock it, i mean lightning fast for what you need it for. also it's not very hard to overclock it, it's simple. all you have to do is voltage and fsb change. simple. since the multiplier is high. for the price, you can't beat it. plus you can save money by doing this, or buy other parts if you want. and i don't know about as rock, it doesn't sound reliable.

either way it's faster, buy beer with the extra money if you drink or something. LOL! just joking about the beer.

Pentium G3220 hands down for this. Read Newegg reviews and you will see why (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116950&clickid=ytryw8VoFTu%3A02QWmAUteXhWUkT1681Z53VZzs0&iradid=97618&ircid=2106&irpid=79301&nm_mc=AFC-IR&cm_mmc=AFC-IR-_-na-_-na-_-na). This thing is an underclocked i3 for much cheaper :)
