Need help finding a Heatsink for my motherboard

looking for a heatsink that will fit on this motherboard http://www.getcomputerparts.com/dell-inspiron-570-motherboard-4gjjt-04gjjt-refurbished_p1507.html

it dosent have a bracket for a clip on, it uses screws, having trouble finding one

I think it's an AM3 socket, but I'm not 100%.

I also noticed a missing MOUNTING BRACKET in this picture. Is this the case for you?

*Is that what you mean by "missing bracket"? If so, that's your problem right there. You need to get the bracket then the AM3 (I think) coolers will fit.

Anybody know why the AM3 bracket appears to be IDENTICAL to the AM2/AM2+ here?:

I'm not 100% on the AM3 socket, but if you MEASURE the holes it should help you. I tried to Google that board but it wasn't clear.

Are you putting it into a laptop or a desktop? All the heat sinks I linked to were for desktops.
