Ive overclocked the Q6600 before, was hoping to get to 3.5ghz range but ended up at only 3.1ghz (anything above that I had the same issue as you in that Windows wouldnt load), the motherboard you are using isnt much of a overclocker hence why you cant seem to get past 3.2ghz. Its more that your motherboard isnt allowing you to get any higher speeds rather than the CPU temperatures (as they seem very good)

If you want to achieve how overclocking speeds you need a P45 motherboard (P45 chipset) most others wont give you a insane jump from 2.6 to 3.8ghz. Though those are hard to find now and also when found the price is that of the newer Intel motherboards sooooo...

ive managed 3.6 but its not stable ... im at 3.46ghz and its rock solid .. the temps are not much diffrent then at 3.2 so im pleased with that... i am going to pick a cheap q6600 up in the future as i dont need an i series cpu as im not a heavy gamer.. how well does ur q6600 perform at 3.1ghz and do u game at all im only after running call of duty black ops 1 and 2

I dont have the Q6600 anymore but I upgraded from a overclocked E4400, which at the time would cause lagging in games like BFBC2, to the Q6600. The difference was big, the lag was completely gone (I was able to increase the settings also), so yea you should notice a jump in performance, and this is not including the overclock you might be able to do (if you can get to 3.5 or higher, it would be great also I recommend a CPU cooling fan, but ill be surprised if you can get it up there simply because I dont think the foxconn mobos are good for overclocking)

I also recommend the Q9550 if you can get it for cheap, that CPU overclocked to 3.5ghz would give you enough performance to last you a couple more years without having to buy a whole new computer.

Also from the looks of it you have 1 RAM stick at 2gb? If so I suggest you get 2 sticks at 2GB DDR2 800 (4GB max for your motherboard) so that they run in dual channel mode
