I currently installed a 2nd 7870 and im running it in crossfire. I have 2 monitors on running on one card with HDMI, and the other running on the other card with DVI. the DVI however is not being detected and is blackscreened. And yes i have updated the drivers already. Thanks!!

If you are using Crossfire plug both monitors into the first card. You will still be using both cards but you can only output from a single card.

Is there a reason for that, it worked btw. But i am just curious why that is the case.

I believe the reason is Crossfire combines the power of the cards. If you wanted to use both card's outputs it would be like having two individual cards instead of the cards working in unison. Also, Crossfire will power down the second card when it is not needed (low loads), which you couldn't do if it was outputting to a monitor.

You don't select cards, you just enable it.
