Hi all
I just recently did my first build earlier this week. Tonight I set an OC on my AMD FX-6300, now when I prime 95 my computer goes above 70c and shuts down... not sure what is going on. I am worried that I may be stuck now. I am by no means a computer guru, but I def. can find my way around one.

ASUS MoBo P5A99 FX Pro R2.o
AMD FX-6300 CPU
Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB GRU
After market fan

Help? Suggestions? I am worried this is going to screw up the computer
Thanks!
Adam

shouldnt need to do the paste over.again what are your stock oc clock settings? in the meantime check to make sure the cooler is properly seated and if it is reset your bios until this gets figured out.another thought is to run prime 95 after bios reset and check temps then as well.
what are your stock and overclock settings? by aftermarket fan do you mean cpu cooler? what kind of cpu cooler? when did you last clean and reapply heatsink compound?to reset your computer to stock clocks remove the cmos battery for a minute and reinstall.this will reset your bios.

by cooler I mean aftermarket CPU air cooler its the Enermax ETS-T40. I put thermal paste on when I built it so, about a week ago. Do I need to clean it off and do it again?
