This is strange, had this PC for about a year haven't made any hardware changes, but lately when I try to power on it will start booting Windows 7 and then restart itself. After trying to get it to boot a few times it will then boot fine. It doesn't always get to the same place in booting when restarting either.

Update: reinstalled Win7. Still same problem. It has also started to randomly restart when in Win7 also.

computer specs:

make sure the bios has all of the bios patches installed and in the bios under memory check that your running xmp profile or the ram is set right.

Yep did all those, as well as reinstalling win7. Really does not want to boot into win7, but will into safe mode. But in safe mode it will still just restart after a random period of time. No BSOD, just turn off.

Also, this morning when I tried to start it, it was restarting on the BIOS, and then the BIOS said it was corrupt and automatically reverted to a previous version.

Ok just tried installing from a win8 or win7 dvd, and the computer would just restart while reading the dvd.

Ok did the following all with the same problems ( won't even boot off a win7 boot dvd )

1: removed video card ( just used onboard )
2: swapped memory cards one at a time
3: plugged in another power supply ( older but i think works )

Still having the same issues ( powers off while trying to boot off a win7 boot dvd ). At this point I think it is the motherboard. Any thoughts?

if the rig shuts down in the bios check that the cpu cooler on tight. cpu and mb have shutdown feature if the cpu is over heating to the point of it melting. if it not a heat issue then i would use the warranty on the mb and rma it.
