Hey people i recently purchased this new rig:

Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 2GB

I5 4670 non k

2 x 4GB corsair vengeance

1TB seagate barrracuda

H87M-HD3 mobo

Thermaltake 750W psu

6 cooling fans 120mm

Now i played these games and Benchmark with fraps so heres what i got...

MetroLL at max 1920 x 1080:

AA i can set to 2x but any higer it LAGS!!!! and i dont think that the 770 is suppose to lag on metro... i get like 20 or less fps average on x4 and with aa off about average 70fps...

Crysis 3 ultra 1920 x 1080 MSAA x8

IT lags!! little bit better than metro about 33fps avg on the jungle mission.

and bioshock i get something in the hundreds fps or sometimes 80fps on maxed everything... my one friend owning the gtx 560 ti 1GB says he can max crysis and get about 30fps avg

now i did research and saw people saying my caRD SHOULD ATLEAST GIVE IN THE 50 FPS IN CRYSIS ON MAXED 1920 X 1080 MSAA X8... is something wrong???? i also run win 7 ultimate 64 bit.

How's the air flow in your case. Monitor temps, if the temps are too high the card will downclock itself. Try running unigine valley and heaven and compare your results with others with similar systems.

i've tried downloading it..do you know about any sites save no virus or surveys where to download it?

your friend isnt telling the whole truth, the only GPU that can run Crysis 3 completely maxed out at 60 FPS average is the GTX 780Ti, your 33 FPS seems about right, Crysis is just that demanding, turn down the AA to 4x or lower and you should be fine

but it's weird that MetroLL is lagging that much though, it really shouldn't, even with AA on, you might want to wipe your drivers clean and reinstall them, see if that fixes it.

the only way you can average 50 FPS on Crysis is with 0 AA, as you can see here from this review (this is a reference model, so it should be a few % weaker than your model, since it's OC'd) even if this benchmark is old, performance should be within 20% of these figures, a 560Ti cannot get playable frames on Crysis 3 fully maxed out.

Bioshock Infinite seems fine

Jap but its actually really weird...because crysis 3 personally have better graphics than metro and also in most cases more things to render ... And i have the 331 something nvidia drivers.... also the cd i got with the 770 was 320 so i installed the 331 driver over... can you maybe think of any other problem that might have caused my gpu to be less powerfull except the drivers??? i even oced the card and still could not max metro and 33fps is not enough to me... i like anything more than 40 fps :)

If you want to MAX those games you'll need at least a GTX780Ti, you're just expecting too much from the system.
The quickest way to decimate the frame rate is, and always has been, to get heavy handed with AA, in my experience switching from AAA to MSAA in Metro LL does nothing for the visuals but hammers the game. Also try turning DOF off because it will also slash the frame rate.
Same applies to any game: heavy AA=reduced frames.
In games where there's a lot of shadows like Crysis or Far Cry, try turning them down a notch or two, again, they hurt the fluidity with minimum visual gain.

well Metro is new and is demanding, if turning off or turning down AA gives you a smoother experience, I say do it, it doesn't make too much of a difference at 1080p resolution, AA in a nutshell blurs and sharpens edges to get rid of any pixelated feel to the game, but at 1080 there's really no such problem because the number of pixels is so high

other than that, maybe temperatures? is your card overheating? overheating causes your GPU to underclock in order to stop rising in temp

I can run metro on 1366x768 msaa 4x with my old hd 6790, settings medium!!! fps 28-32. But i can't run crysis 3 with 4x msaa. If i do my fps is always 20-27 on single player and on multiplayer its 18-22!!! To play crysis fluently i have to keep my msaa to 1x with aa off.... I think metro runs better on amd gpus than nvidia despite it was sponsored by nvidia and crysis runs better on nvidia though it was sponsored by amd!!!

If you are having framerate issues with Metro LL, then you need to ensure that Nvidia Advanced PhysX is turned off from the main menu settings. This is nothing to do with your system, as I have a similar system (except with an i7 processor) and I had the same problem. It is just a bug with the engine, on top of the Metro LL is not perfectly optimised for PC, which means it can lag occasionally despite having a brilliant PC. Turn PhysX off and you should be able to run it with everything maxed out. Although MSAA and AA etc do not make an enormous difference to the visuals anyway.

Agreed.

I'd also point out that I currently run x 2 760 GTX in SLI mode with a new i5 4690k overclocked to 4.4ghz and i CANT run Far Cry 3 at 8x MSAA without input lag. Lowering the setting to 4 instead of 8 gives me 60 fps CONSTANT with V sync on.

I've chosen Far Cry 3 as I believe that in it's full HD glory is just as demanding with all of the landscapes and chaos going on.

The fact is that a single 770 alone wont have a chance of running those games maxed out. That's why I SLI'd my 760 and the performance is incredible from a single card.

Consider adding another to your rig. It'll still be cheaper than the ridiculously priced 780 TI.

I have a gtx 970 overclocked 150mhz core 200 mhz memory. My fps drops down to the high 20's during a metro 2033 benchmark run on max settings at times, but I average high 60s. Turning Physx off helped a crapton, raised me up over 10 fps, and I have a i5-3570k processor. At a certain point, you WILL become CPU bound, due to the limitations of modern cpus versus graphics cards and the fact most games these days, STILL don't support multiple cores.

Also, one thing I noticed when playing crysis versus crysis 2? Crysis 2 my gpu utilization never broke 75%, on max settings 1080p. Crysis on the other hand, my gpu is PEGGED 99% on max settings. Older game, but more demanding.

Basically what happens is, when a new graphics engine comes out(Crysis), the engine isn't optimized as much as the newer engine(Crysis 2 runs the crysis3 engine). Better, more optimized engine, less demanding on the graphics card. Same held true with Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, except the problem was getting cpu bound instead of gpu bound at the higher end of the spectrum.

In short, differant engines require differant horsepower from differant places.
