Hi. I bought my computer with an Intel Core i3 530 about 4 or 5 years ago. Now I'm upgrading my video card, thinking along the lines of either a GTX 650 Ti or an HD 7850 (can post specs if needed, still looking of course, if I can squeeze a few more bucks). My budget is one constraint from the newer models, as well as my country, so not everything is accessible to me (SEA).

Just wondering if there are any bottlenecks for me to worry about. I only know how the word is defined, but practically speaking, I lack the experience to put it to use for when making purchases/upgrades.

there will be a slight bottleneck, but it's really nothing to worry about, the first generation core i's are still decently strong processors, many people out there are still using Core 2 Duo/Quad processors and are still kicking and scratching

I agree, a slight bottleneck in the i3. If it was a i3-2xxx then maybe ever so slightly. But that one, yeah.

i expect 20-30% bottleneck.

i3 3220 has 59% better result than i3 530 in single core test and 62% in multi core test.. i3 3220 is still going strong but this one -no .

I really appreciate the fact that aside from having helpful answers, no one talks down on other people's computer builds or just goes bah and offhand refers get the newest models.

I guess there will be a bottleneck, but nothing severe by my standards, so I'll go along with it anyway.

Thanks all.
