amd a10-7850k crossfire help

Solution

based from what the Battlefield 4 gameplay that I have seen , the Mantle reeally does improve FPS compared to DirectX XD that is the only reference as of now ,we'll just have to wait and see xD well amd says "Mantle is a software component that makes it easy to apply programming techniques and optimizations written for consoles to PC’s containing GCN architecture" :D

It is called dual graphics and as far as I believe the a10-7850k would only be compatible with the R7 250 and 240 cards. But I have also heard speculation of the 260 cards but i'm not sure if it's entirely true.
Here is the AMD dual graphics page:
http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/dual-graphics/pages/dual-graphics.aspx#1

Edit** I did some research and it seems the R7 240 and R7 250 are officially supported, but that doesnt mean they wont release an update later on for larger cards. But for the moment Kavari apu's aren't supporting R7 260x's on release.

sadly the Kaveri A10 are only bound to the lower end R7 240 and 250 alone, regardless of GDDR technology :( although you could check this http://www.techporn.ph/amd-limits-support-for-kaveris-dual-gpu-performance/ for some idea regarding the A10-7850k when hybride crossfire with the r7 240 is enabled :D

Mantle is a new initiative that AMD added into the new R7 and R9 cards. It allows for the program or game you are running on your system to speak directly to the graphics cards core, which in theory should increase video performance. But it really hasn't been added completely into the software as of yet, but when it starts to be more commonly used in software it should have a decent effect on game fps.

Mantle is all smoke and mirrors before benchmarks come out, and then it also depends on how much coverage it gets. It seems like AMD just paid DICE to use Mantle because none of AMD's competitors have any problems using DX11 (which offers far more hardware accessibility than Mantle which devs care greatly about) and AMD is in the minority when it comes to gaming rigs. http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

Keep in mind that survey also lumps in AMD's VILW GPU architectures which wont be accessible to Mantle.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Anyway, I do not reccomend buying the A10-7850K at all, no matter what. Getting a FX 4300 and then buying a HD 7770 will out perform both sides of the APU for cheaper.

Dual graphics is also something not to be relied on. You will be better off just buying a GPU out of the range of Dual Graphics.

The APUs are new. Their drivers are bleeding edge even.

Seeing how former APUs, like the 5800k and 6800k could successfully offer performance benefits even when paired with a 7750 (from 7770 onward there is no performance increase).

The iGPU in the 7850K is supposed to be at 7750 levels (drivers will improve its performance in time compared to Trinity and Richland). So I can see how pairing a 7850K with a 260X would net positive increases in performance. Also, both the GPU and iGPU are running on GCN 1.1 architecture, so I guess it's only normal.

Let's wait for the first WHQL drivers for the Kaveri APUs and then we'll talk.
