My System is
intel core i3 540, 4 gb ram, 500gb hard disk, intel dh55pj motherboard, thermaltake tr2 420 psu.
i want to buy a sapphire r7 260x oc 1 gb gddr5 graphics card. this will run my smoothly in my system?
my psu can run this smoothly?
Sapphire recomended 500w for this card.

Personally I would go with what Sapphire recommended, it is never fun to get a new gpu to find out you can't use it because you can't power it. It is possible, even probable that the 420wwill run the card successfully but I don't suggest taking that risk.

That cpu is pretty outdated and not very powerful. I think you might see some issues with bottlenecking with the R7. As for the power supply it should be ok if it isn't too old and or it has at least a bronze 80+ rating but it is safer to have a 500 watt psu.

Edit** The psu isn't even bronze 80+ rated, I wouldn't use that psu with the R7
