Hi people,

I am hopefully going to be building a pc around april and currently only have enough for the gpu. (EVGA GTX 660 SC 2GB GDDR5) I was just wondering if I could buy that, and then use it until I have all the other parts. The reason I am asking this is because my pc is old and I'm wondering if my processor will stop me from seeing a real difference from my current gpu.

Specs:

Intel Xeon 5160 @ 3.00ghz
1TB HDD
16GB RAM @ 800mhz
ASUS HD 6670 1GB GDDR5
Not sure about motherboard but I know it's a dell one.
Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks :)

Hi

a brief look at the power rating of graphics card Asus HD 6670 shows approx 75 W

EVGA GTX 660 SC 2GB GDDR5 approx 140 W with min 450W PSU (12V 24A)

what is power supply rating of your current Dell System and what PCI-e 12V connecters does it have ?

regards

Mike Barnes

Its a 750w psu so no problems there, and It has 1 6-pin Power cable and 2 molex (Which can be used with and adapter obviously. Edit: I'm not sure if its the right connector though, It has 6 pins definitely, is there any way i can tell?
