So last month i exceeded my providers data cap.
now this month it's only been 13 days and i've used 140 GB of internet!!!
and my providers cap is at -+ 200 GB!
I first called my provider and he told me the usage was FTP and with some large peaks.
Today i installed a network monitoring tool called networx to keep an eye on my internet usage. somting i noteced was that my 2 pc's constantly used 1 Kb every second without any progamms open?
i also ran a virus scan in both pc's and nothing was found (i used Avast free for the server one and a payed norton internet secuirity for the other)
I recently change my wireless router password and enabled MAC filtering but i got no reduced usage.
i use 1 pc for gaming and the other to host a very small minecraft server 24/7, it has mostely no players at night and maybe 1-2 during the day with 8 people at max, it's a server with online-mode=false and has whitelisting.
altough i know gaming uses a lot of internet, i've been gaming for a long time and did not notice a high internet usage. just past month and this month again.
help would be much apricieted, as i don't know what's going on
