Hey, I've just completed my first build using an AMD FX-8350. I am currently using the stock fan but I find it runs really loud and quite hot. I would like some help on what CPU cooling solutions there are for me around £30 and below

My friend recommended a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO but I have concerns if it will fit in my case.

CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition
My case: CiT Vantage Type-r
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43
GPU: AMD R9 290X Toxic Sapphire.
ask for any more details.

Solution
Don't worry when the motherboard is not able to handle the CPU it will trick the CPU into thinking it is running at 100 degrees and thus will throttle the CPU. You should replace the motherboard soon though.

Get the hyper 412 slim if you think hyper 212 will not for inside your case.

You are using a 970-g43 with a fx8350?! Pls, dont ever put full load on the CPU and get a different board! The CPU isnt listed as compatible anymore and MSI has confirmed that their 970 boards are not able to handle the 8core FX CPUs!
Your board will blow up after a few minutes of full load and cause of the lack of security mechanism the board will also kill the cpu!

I agree with Gameboy, it's not such a massive issue that you should run to the shops to replace your board. But just keep in mind when using CPU intensive programs that you shouldn't be pushing your CPU too far as to damage your components. As for the CPU cooler, the 212 should fit your case, I'd say it was worth risking going with the 212 as the 412 slim comes in at a much higher price!

I've spoken to the op since then and the board ended up shorting due to a live cable being exposed, damaged a few parts, fortunetly he was able to replace many on warranty.

He is now using an 990fx Extreme3 with his FX 8350, so I guess you an sleep easy! ;)
