I would really appreciate any help any of you can offer me regarding a computer I just put together.

Everything powers on, fans are running fine, 6-pin power is plugged in, but my monitor (and an alternative monitor that I tried) do not pick up any signal from the computer. I am also sure that the cable works because it works with my other computer.

Here are the specs for the new build:

Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Link
Graphics card: Geforce GTX 550ti Link
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 600W Link
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0 Ghz Link

Things I have tried so far:

Testing the graphics card in my other computer (it works)
Removing one stick of RAM (no difference)
Testing a different graphics card in the new build (did not work)
Testing alternative monitor (no difference)
Checking all cables/connections

I am thinking it may be something to do with the BIOS but I have no way of checking since I have no graphical output. The motherboard does not have internal graphics.

Thanks for any help you can offer! I am around if you need more information or to try out any suggestions.

The PSU is brand new and seems to be working since the fan on the graphics card is on and everything seems to be running. Is there more to this suggestion that I perhaps don't understand? Thanks a lot for your reply.

The BIOS version seems to be 2104. Thanks for your help!

I have double-checked this and I am in the PCI-e port that the manual recommends for a single card. I should have mentioned this in the original post. Thank you!

No, you misunderstand - I'm not talking about which Port on the Motherboard... I mean the Port on the Video Card that you're plugging your monitor into.

I see, sorry. I just tried all 3 ports (2 DVI ports and 1 HDMI) and none of them had a different result. None of them seem to be putting out a signal to either monitor.

Since you tried another working video card in the same slot in the new motherboard, I'm leaning towards it being a bad motherboard. If it's new and under warranty contact Asus tech support and let them hash it out with you or RMA it.

Thanks a lot for this suggestion. I just had a look and there is - the CPU LED is red. Does this point to the CPU having an issue?

Yes, the issue is CPU related. Is the 8 pin power cable connected? Is the CPU fan spinning when starting the board?
If yes, and still red CPU led, then I suggest taking the board out of the case (for ruling out a short), reseating the CPU, installing the stock CPU fan and starting the board only CPU and fan installed, both 24 and 8 pin power cables connected. See if still red CPU led.
Have you tried using the Flashback? I hope you didn't.
