My friend's computer has a large problem that has just started where on his computer there are large grey lines in squares all across his screen. Also, when he moves the mouse his entire screen garbles and flickers. Please HELP me and my friend.
Hook the monitor up to another computer. If the problem follows the monitor, then we know the problem.
I know a relative amount about computers and my first thoughts were driver issues. So I told him to boot in safe mode and the monitor worked at a crappy, default windows drivers resolution. But there were no lines. I have told him to uninstall all graphics drivers and all but the PhysX and Audio drivers were uninstalled. But when he boots standard Windows the problem persists. This is the latest. Any help?
Try what I said. If what you said is right, it's likely a problem with the gpu or gpu output device. On your gpu, there should be other outputs (HDMI, VGA, DVI, etc). Try using one that you don't usually use.

The problem is that he is running a GTX 650 Ti Boost. The card comes with a DVI-D and a DVI-S, but his monitor is VGA so he is using an adapter... which is DVI-D so he can't plug it into another monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
