I messed with my motherboard by plugging in a wire into it which emerged from the hard disk .
When i inserted that into the mother board the PC turned off immediately ..and there was a sound like "when we open a can:tak" . Now the Cpu is not detecting any power i.e there is no green light glowing in the cpu ! Help ! Mom's gonna kill me ! :p

Solution
you plugged in a FDD power connector to a USB header? *shakes head* i'm sorry but by doing that you can only hope you fried just the Motherboard, and not the CPU, PSU or any USB attached device.

My advice for you, do not touch anything unless you know what it is meant for, EVER. The photos you took and posted here you should have done first to fully understand what it was. Rather than assume it was for something.

That noise you heard was more than likely a Capacitor blowing its vapor, you're lucky it didnt pop, they are rather violent exploders the solid state caps are, and can be shot off at speeds similar to a gun shooting a bullet. You should consider yourself lucky if when you buy a new PSU and your motherboard still works.

Nope..it is a cabel consisting of four wires : two black red and yellow with a white end and its origin is situated next to the yellow sata cabel attached to the hard-disk!

The wire with white end hanging is the cable i inserted in the below pic
http://
And the slot in which i inserted is the blue slot in the below pic:
http://

I inserted it when the pc was ON i.e in middle of a working pc

First of all, let me ask you - WHY did you plug the cable in the particular slot, and when the PC was running? What were you trying to accomplish? That is a SATA power cable and has nothing to do with the blue slot.

By forcing the cable into the slot, you have most likely fried your motherboard.

Hmm ...thats my big mistake . i was curious why the cabel was hanging .. And assumed that it has been deteched from that slot. So i think i will have to buy new motherboard! :(

In almost any case, you will be left with some unused cables. These cables are supplied for extending your system with new HDDs, video cards etc.

A hanging cable is perfectly normal and even expected. Never go plugging it wherever you like, especially if you don't know what its purpose and function is, and with the PC running! You could've hurt yourself.

ALWAYS ASK FIRST BEFORE TAKING ACTION. It will save you a lot of money and hassle.

We can't be entirely sure if it's the motherboard, or only the motherboard that's dead. It can also be a fried PSU, and some of your components may have taken a hit as well.

Does the power supply smell funny? If you can get your hands on another PSU, please test it with your current motherboard before we make a fried motherboard diagnosis. Just to be sure, you know.

May your mom have mercy on you!

Ya i tried to check a psu by supplying power to it by connecting a safety pin on its outlet with one end in any black terminal and another end of pin in green terminal as a result there was some sort Of movement in PSU. Not sure if its working as i dont have access to any other moderboard or PSU.

My recommendation:
start with the PSU and work your way to the CPU.
1: PSU
2: Motherboard
3: CPU

glad you are up and running again, it is far cheaper not to apply the "Trial by Error" method with computers. I suggest you browse the Forums, even though the problems may not be yours, you can still learn a lot from the solutions others find useful.
