Depends if the i5 is dual core or quad core if it is quad core then yes it will affect fps to a good extent

Yeah versus a 1280x1024 it would be a little bit harder to hit ultra especially if your monitor was 1080p or above but it should definitely be playable at medium at the least

It can be but cpu only affects fps a little bit but a card not perfoming as it should can be caused by many factors such as not enough watts from the psu, drivers, a defective card,too much heat, etc.

on gpu boss it says the card should be gettting around 84.5 fps on bf3 ultra on 1080p, i cant seem to even get 84 fps on a 1366x768 monitor.. and recommended requiremnets for bf3 is a quad core, is it possible that cpu is holding me back so much?
