I have a gigabyte ga-970a-d3p mobo and 2x4gb kingston hyperx red 1600mhz memory (KHX1600C9D3B1)and it only shows as 1334 mhz in the bios. i know i need to set the voltage to 1.65v for that memory but i cannot change the voltage on my motherboard. also there are no xmp profiles or anything?

Try downloading the manual and looking at page 36.

Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) (Note 2)
Allows the BIOS to read the SPD data on XMP memory module(s) to enhance memory performance when
enabled.
Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
Profile1 Uses Profile 1 settings.
Profile2 (Note 2) Uses Profile 2 settings.

(Note 2) This item is present only when you install a memory module that supports this feature.
