HHey Folks.
Good Day. Need your help n guide regarding PSU, which to choose.I am very confused.
Building,
Intel DH77EB.
Intel I3-3240.
Seagate 1TB 64MB.
8 or 16 MB DDR3.
Two DVD RW.
Chasis with 3 Fans.

I am confused which PSU should I buy, Seasonic M12ii 520w OR G-550 RM. What is the difference other than Mod/semi Mod, 80+ Bronz/Gold.?
M12ii has Two 12V rails and G-550has one. Here my confusion satrts. WTH. Does this single/Two 12V rails matter.? I am NOT planning to play games. Just browsing,Home/office work and watching media.
In Case of Two 12V rails in M12ii, do both of them use or only one.and if volts are split in two, does it matter. In the name of God help me with reply to queries especially these "Two" rails. and also tell does M12ii-520 is enough for my above mentioned sysytem.
Regards.

If you are not planning on playing games, you won't even need that much power to begin with, you could make do with one of their smaller 350/450W supplies. The multiple rails thing won't really concern you unless you'll be looking to run high load programs like games, 3d rendering, video editing, etc. I'd pick the G series over the M12ii, it's more efficient and has nicer flat ribbon cables that are easier to manage and tuck away. I'll also mention that I have one of those G550s in my backup ITX system and it's been great, always been reliable and very quiet.

in M12ii-520,Do "TWO" 12V rails have any mean in my case. I am also want a big supply for any future upgrade. I am just confused about these two 12V rails. Are both connected or only one will be and .? and as combined amps are equal in M12ii to G-550, what does that mean.?
Sorry for this silly question as its Not my field.

Get the cheapest one.......... (you could go with a CX500 or CX600 from Corsair if they are cheaper they'd be plenty too)

BOTH are good supplies. Good brands. If your not gaming, BOTH have more power than you'll every need, means they'll run super cool and last longer. (and single rail vs dual rail will not be important to you at all...)

I would NOT look for a "350--400" watt supply as there seems to nothing but JUNK out there at those lower power capacities.
