I have a problem with my wife's laptop that has met with a tea this morning. Drink wasnt spilled on the keyboard but rather on the bed below laptop. Some of it went through vents on the bottom. My wife described symptoms as screen going pink in first place and then black. I took all of it to bits and found only a few drops on GPU(9600m GT) and HDD. Didnt see anything on mobo or CPU. Dried it all and assembled but it wont work(no surprise here
) When turned on, screen remains black but you can hear HDD and DVD spinning, leds light up, fan kicks in for a second or two and thats it. I tried to test RAM by using only one module in each ports with no results(maybe both modules or both ports are gone). Also connected laptop to an external monitor and still nothing. Mobo discharge was also done by holding power button for 60sec without any power connected. When laptop is only on battery power all above happens but when power lead is also connected then sometimes it will turn on sometimes not. When only power lead is in but no battery then after pressing power all leds start flashing and thats it. I'm clueless and dont know what else to do. Can anyone give me some tips how to bring this laptop back up or help me diagnosing what part went bad please? I'm really not looking forward to buying a new one.
