What does it mean using SSD as cache?
Whats the different between that and using ssd as a primary drive to have OS on it?

If you have 4gb or more RAM you shouldn't worry about having a SSD cache. But for the 2nd question, if you have a SSD it's far better to install your OS on it as SSDs are about 5x faster than 5400rpm HDD

The cache concept is simply using a fast SSD as a staging area for data that generally lives on an HDD.
Just like the tiny 32 or 64MB cache that lives on a regular HDD, just larger. Up to 64GB.

Using the SSD as a regular drive is faster overall, given sufficient size.
