Hey so I am new to Tom's Hardware and am not really sure how I should post this but I will try.
So I am looking for a new laptop for school and gaming and need help. Ideally the laptop will have...
Budget - less than 800 preferably but will pay 1000 if something fits all of my needs
Cpu - haswell i5 or better
Gpu - something capable of running Planetside 2 even if only on low settings
Storage - preferably ssd but my budget is probably too low so 500 hdd will work
size - 14 or 15 inch will work. not too thick or heavy though. preferably less than 5 lbs
Battery - It must be able to last at least 6 hours doing work (this is the most important part)
Others - Screen resolution does not matter too much. Don't need a dvd/cd drive. Company does not matter either. The laptop should also have adequate cooling too. I don't want to burn my lap while playing games.

$799 i5: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152463
$949 i7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152458

I Specifically chose those two because of the following reasons:
1) CPU Requirement
2) Size Requirement
3) Discrete GPU to run PS2 rather than using integrate graphics
4) Battery is a 6-Cell Lithium which is more beneficial for you since you need it to last 6 hours. Be sure to keep good battery cycle habits
5) Weight came into consideration, they both weigh in at 5.29 lbs
6) Screen size
7) Cost
