Is this a RAM issue?

I just got done building a computer and the lights, fans, etc. all turn on but I cannot get it to display anything on the TV to install the OS. I simply get a "no signal" message. They are all brand new components, and I'm trying to figure out if this is a RAM issue, mobo issue,TV issue, or video card issue.

I will admit that the RAM is not on the motherboard's compatibility list and suspect that may be the problem. I have tried going down to 1 stick and it doesn't fix the issue. I would think that if it was RAM compatibility that it would at least show the initial bios or loading screens. Am I wrong about this?

The mobo could be the issue I suppose, but everything else on it appears to be working fine as far as that goes. How would you know? Would you even get a power on if the mobo was the issue? I've tried moving the card to different slots and it doesn't fix the problem either.

I've had TVs before that didn't like to display computer bios right away. Not sure if they handle computer inputs the same as a dedicated monitor would but I suspect not and think this is the 2nd most likely problem. I figured that maybe since this would have been a clean install that there are no drivers and so the TV doesn't properly recognize the video card's hdmi signal.

My first thought was that it didn't like the fact that there were no drivers and I had 2 video cards plugged in. I removed one, tried again, and had the same problem. I swapped out cards completely and it didn't fix it either so I think I can eliminate this as the problem. I'll also mention that I tried all of this with an older 850W PSU and it was all the same as well.

Any thoughts?

FYI you can't use ddr2 ram in a ddr3 motherboard, but that's not the issue. Your ram is compatible. it runs at 1333 or 1600 and is rated to perform at a higher speed if your motherboard allowed it.

Are you plugging into the GPU? if so, that may be why. try the regular mobo ports first and then install your drivers for your gpu.

DDR2? Where do you get that info. According to Newegg where I bought the RAM from, this is a DDR3 quad channel kit.

yes, I realized this after finding the ram specs.
