Hello, so i recently built a gaming computer, and the HDD that i am using is a few years old and has some errors(but it gets me by for now). When i buy a new HDD can i just replace the drive and do a clean windows install with my windows 8 64-bit OEM?

Sometimes, yes. If it's from a Dell or HP type system, the key is probably locked out though.

If it's a retail, you may just need to call Microsoft and tell them you replaced components and they'll deactivate the key on the old HD and reactivate on the new one. You can do this through the automated system usually.
