So I'm building my first computer, and I've got everything together. The motherboard green light comes on when I turn on the power supply, and when I press the power button all the fans start up, but no signal comes through to my monitor. I just picked up a motherboard speaker to hear the BIOS beeps, but nothing is coming through that either. I looked up all of the common mistakes that could lead to this problem, and I've crossed most of them off the list. My mobo has no video output so I can't bypass the GPU, but it does have an updated BIOS that should be compatible with the CPU. I made sure that the CPU and GPU had their dedicated power. I took out one stick of RAM. I cleared CMOS. I tried putting the GPU in the second PCI-E slot. I tried outputting in both VGA and HDMI. I tried two different monitors. Nothing. Though when I turn on the computer, the message on the monitor changes from "check signal cable" to "no signal."

Any ideas for me? I am new to this so it's possible I'm missing something obvious, though I've read several guides on building a computer and have gone through the checklists. Here are my parts:

Mobo: Asus M5A97 LE R 2.0
GPU: EVGA GTX 650
CPU: AMD FX 6300

Let me know if you need pics, and thanks for any help!

Went to a computer technician friend of mine, and it took us an hour to figure out that the CPU must not have been seated properly, because when we took the HSF off, the CPU came with it without much pressure! Reinstalled it properly and it works fine now :)
