When i join a Multiplayer server in arma 3 like Atlis life, My fps is like 7-13, and even tought i set my video setting on low it's still on 7-13 fps? so when i set it on ultra setting it's still on 7-13 fps? how can that be right? should it not be better if lower video settings? i have searched a lot on the internet and nothing was really working.

that might mean a CPU bottleneck, since most graphical changes are processed in the GPU, encountering the same FPS from low to high might mean that your CPU can't go any further.

check your CPU and GPU usage when in game

you can upload to a site like imgur then post an image here

how weird, only 36% usage...

okay, so your processor is a Phenom II X4, that's not too bad, those are still decently strong, what is the GPU in your system?

Graphic card right? It's a AMD Raedon R9 290 series, just bought it for about 3 weeks ago.

hmm, that's odd then, your CPU should definitely be bottlenecking your GPU, but even your CPU doesn't reach 100%

I've never played arma 3 but is there some kind of different version you can run it on, like 32-bit vs 64-bit client?

Nope:/ i dont know why, it might be the server im playing on then. When the server restarts im not lagging at all in the start, but after some time playing on the server, it starts to lagg so much and go down at 12fps

oh that's a bit different, check your temperatures, your CPU or GPU might be overheating

I did, the tempature was normal. If i fx play 4 hours of arma 3 and i join the server playing for 1 hour and then i lagg like crap, but then the server restarts 1 hour later and i join the server after it has restarted i have no laggs at all, but then i play for 1 hour and then it starts to lagg a lot again? so i was thinking that it maybe could be the server?

it might be the server, have you tried other ones? And are you on a wired or wireless connection?

Im on a wired connection. and when im playing single player i have about 60 fps like normal, and the single player map is the same map i play on when im playing multiplayer, and yes i have tried other servers and it's not lagging so much on them, but it's still lagging.

hmm multiplayer is supposed to be pretty CPU intensive, see if you can do certain tricks to your CPU to increase performance like unpark cores and maybe give it a very mild overclock

Okay, i have no idea how i overclock but i will try searh on it. Thanks for you help.

I've found while playing Arma 3 multiplayer that your computer is not the problem, its the game mode/server.
One example is when playing domination (lots of NPC's running about) and since theres so much stuff going on the server can't handle it and so your computer sits around 8fps (like mine) whilst you cpu, graphics, memory etc are fine.

If you're still reading this thread and haven't figured out your problem, see if this helps a bit.

To begin, ArmA is not optimized well at all. It won't utilize your CPUs full potential no matter what processor you have. But it will run better on a higher clock then it will on a lower one. This is because of the ai on the map, hundreds at a time. Se a duel core at 3.8ghz will do better than a quad at 3.0. So just consider that, and even a mild overclock might cause you to get better fps.

On the subject of altis life, I play that as well and its a whole different problem. Then main reason for lag however is that there are about 200 AI on a map that is 300 sq km. And every time one of these AI are accessed, a menu opens and the server has to process that. You can also count all the activities you do as another AI, gathering grapes, making moonshine, and selling it for instance are another three AI. So imagine playing on one server with 500 people. That's basically what's happening in altis life and the servers just can't keep up, as mentioned above.
