1st time intel guy now. Is there anything special i should download or need to update from the intel website? Or any cool features to do in the BIOS?

THanks

check with the motherboard vendor that your running the newest bios file. with intel motherboards you need to make sure your running the newest intel chipset driver from intel and the newest mei driver. check to see from the motherboard vendor web page the last time the driver was updated. in the bios make sure under dram speed you have xmp profile turned on. to speed boot up...under primany display set it to peg/pci for the gpu. if your not going to use the onboard ipgpu turn off muilt monitor support to turn off the onboard gpu. under boot turn on fast boot. you get into windows in 8 sec with it on. with it on you have to use software tool to get back into the bios or use the bios boot button on some mb. with fast boot on the motherboard wont see the keyboard keystokes intill you get into the bios. with newer bios and windows. your pc does not realy shut down..the power supply fan will turn off and the led will go dark but there still power on the mb with a mouse move or keyboard kit most newer mb will turn on. you wont need to keep hitting the on switch on the front of the case.

Oh boy. Time to test me knowledge lol Hopefully i can get that all! Thanks. Does turning off the integrated graphics speed anything up? Or take any load off the CPU?

You really need to do nothing out of the ordinary.

I would disagree about updating the bios.
Update only if the update will fix a problem that is hurting you.
A failed bios update can cause all sorts of issues.

Intel cpu's have an excellent ram controller.
It can feed the cpu with data from any speed ram. Fast ram is not necessary for performance; you are looking at a 2-3% issue. No need to overclock ram to higher speeds.

As long as my ram is running at said speed which is 1600 im fine. I dont know how to OC and dont plan to OC

And agree with the BIOS, i wasnt going to update it unless i started having a issue that a new BIOS fixes.
